Les Ballets Africains is universally recognized as Africa’s most accomplished touring company. The national ensemble for the Republic of Guinea, Les Ballet Africains’ consists of 30 virtuoso artists who deliver a lively program of dance, music, song and acrobatics. Using native drums and a variety of other tribal instruments, the show offers a glimpse into the splendor of African traditions. Fascinating legends, filled with animals and spirits, tell tales from West African folklore. These are skillfully intertwined with exuberant celebration dances, warrior rituals and ceremonial offerings. With a technical virtuosity that appears to transcend the humanly possible, the artists of Les Ballet Africains capture the energy of their homeland in a performance that is both remarkable and uplifting.
