The Recent History of the Hmong
Why do people want to hurt others so badly? Why are we so heartless?
There’s no logic or reason in my mind for that. How can a person not be affected by such images? How can someone do any of it and not feel something terribly wrong with themselves? This is what wars do to men - and I say “Men” specifically. Abuses to women on any side of war are “SOP” (Standard Operating Procedure) but then again what atrocity isn’t a SOP in war zones? Why are we not smart enough to know that savagery is the only thing that can be expected from a place where life is not to be respected. Wars will never be honorable and most times patriotism is not honorable either.
For the Hmong people, resistance in this war means surviving genocide.
My heart goes out to the Hmong people.
