The Maori Struggle

Not only are our diet, entertainment, social issues, and consumption habits influencing the world, terror culture is now also becoming an acceptable trend in the developed world wherever it’s felt that minorities need to be kept ‘controlled’ and supressed in order for democracy (for some) to prevail. No people’s ‘movement’ is allowed - the world has seen it over and over. In the US with the Black, Chicano, Indigenous, women, labor and immigration movements. Any resemblance of a movement or resistance is shut down as there’s nothing more dangerous than hopeful and motivated people.
In this last weeks the New Zealand government has undertaken a terror attack on the Maori people and has officially chosen the Tuhoe people - apparently the one tribe who has not give up their lands to the “thrown” -  as its terrorism poster child. This comes not long after the declaration of Indigenous Rights has adopted by the United Nation - a decision which the NZ gov did not support. The result - 17 arrested, among them a high profile Maori activist - Tame Iti.
What exists in the place of real democracies is a form of despotism. And people of the world - civilians rather than politicians - want to see a system that truly resembles democracy and considers “everyone” deserving of freedom, rights and liberties and where the majority are really represented. You think that’s possible? What? You thought that’s how it works already…well, unfortunately not for everyone…/p>
